Spectroscopy instrumentation maker BaySpec has launched its Academic Grant Program, which offers resources to public and private teaching institutions. The program strives to promote the use of laser spectroscopy as a general, pervasive measurement tool, while providing access to instrumentation and technology in science and engineering curricula, according to the company.

Grants are available to any non-profit educational institution in the United States or overseas. Applications must be signed by the submitting instructor (or principal investigator) and an authorized official of the institution. Also, the submitting instructor should be a full-time (>50%) employee of the institution.

Areas of academic interest are unrestricted and institutions are encouraged to explore applications that provide a benefit to industry and humanity at whole.
