Here is what we are looking for. We can create short or long articles – depending on how much technical information is available:
Editorial goal
Vision Systems Design tries to explain how technology is used in a real-world system application. By doing so, we hope to convince our readers that such technology may be useful in their application. For Vision Systems Design, we really need an article that describes how a product or technology has been used in a machine-vision system. As well, we describe how that machine-vision system has been developed.
What goes into an article
We generally require four pieces of artwork:
(a) A photograph of the system in action (hopefully with an operator)
(b) A block diagram of the system and the OEM components used such as cameras, frame grabbers, computers, positioning systems, and software. As well, we require all the manufacturers of such components to be identified by name and product name/number.
(c) A screen shot showing how the software was developed (C++ or third-party package, for example).
(d) A screen shot showing what the end-user (operator) would see.
